Waiting (and waiting) for the 60-day cybersecurity review
When it comes to tracking the government’s 60-day cybersecurity review, we here at ExecutiveBiz have been feeling a little like those onlookers at Cape Canaveral, waiting in anticipation for the flight controller’s final prompt.
So, where does the report now stand?
By last count, the report, which is being led by White House interim cybersecurity chief Melissa Hathaway, was set for release on or around May 8. As we wait for release of the report’s findings, news is shifting to discussion of what’s next in the White House’s approach to cybersecurity.
Next up for discussion: Who’ll be tapped as the White House’s new cyber security director? The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder offers his take on a few possible candidates. Meanwhile, Secretary Janet Napolitano tells the National Security Telecommunications Industry that the administration is gearing up to implement the report’s findings.
