Navy Looks to Facilitate Dialogue

Robert Carey, CIO of the Navy, is looking to harness the power of Web 2.0 applications. Carey is looking to facilitate dialogue and collaboration through creating a secure extension of the DON CIO website.

Common Access holders will be able to access the secured website and interact more directly with the office of the CIO. Presently, individuals seeking to comment on Carey’s blog, which has been active for close to two years, were forced to submit comments to the department for approval before posting. The new extension will be launched in January 2010 and will provide a secure forum for cleared personnel to collaborate on and discuss cyber security initiatives.
