J. Patrick Schondel serves as vice president of business development for Boeing NASA Systems. His responsibilities include developing, planning and implementing business development and strategic marketing activities.
Schondel has been with the company since 1983 when he joined the former North American Aircraft Division of Rockwell International. His other previous positions have been as project manager, deputy and program manager, and business development director.
Previously, Schondel served as vice president of business development at Boeing Space Exploration in Houston, Texas. His experience includes research and development, advanced prototype and test, engineering and manufacturing development, and major production. He has been involved in aircraft, spacecraft and advanced weapons-systems programs, as well as technology-development activities.
Schondel earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from The Ohio State University. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona.
