Sid Fuchs was appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer of ATS Corporation March 24, 2010. His position will be effective April 5, 2010.
Fuchs was previously president and CEO of OAO Technology Solutions, Inc. Fuchs has had more than 25 years experience in the intelligence, national security, aerospace and defense, federal government, and commercial markets with focus on the engineering, development, integration, and operations of mission-critical programs, systems, and technologies.
Prior to joining OAOT, Fuchs was a corporate officer of Northrop Grumman Corporation. He served as president and CEO of TASC, Inc., which at the time was a Northrop subsidiary providing systems-engineering expertise to the intelligence, aerospace, and defense markets. Under his leadership, the business unit grew from $450 million to more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue in four years. He was also president of Northrop Grumman Information Technology’s Civilian Agencies Group and led that division to post first-time growth and new contract wins in several years.
Before his position at Northrop Grumman, Fuchs was director of global strategic services at Rational Software and managed teams that were responsible for the design and implementation of complex commercial and government software systems worldwide. Fuchs was also director of advanced programs at Oracle Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation, where his product sales and engineering teams supported the defense and intelligence communities and consistently exceeded performance targets.
Fuchs is a former CIA officer who served at domestic and foreign posts and on assignment with the U.S. Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office. His other previous agency positions include operations officer, intelligence analyst for foreign weapon and ballistic missile systems, systems engineer and program manager.
Fuchs serves on numerous boards, including the Tower Club Board of Governors, the LSU Department of Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board and the board of directors of Camber Corporation and Geocent, Inc. He is a former board member of Roam Secure, Inc, the CEO Panel for the Information Technology Association of America, AFCEA International, the NRO Senior Advisory Panel, Millennium Bank, the Joint Military Intelligence College Foundation and the Fairfax County Public Library Foundation. In 2000, Fuchs established the first scholarship fund for the e-Commerce Program at the Northern Virginia Community College and was the Chairman of the American Heart Association’s 2000 Young Executive’s Campaign.
Fuchs earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Louisiana State University. He has also completed executive programs at the University of Virginia Darden School, the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, Harvard University and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
