Jim Daniel is senior vice president, General Counsel at Serco Inc. He has more than 17 years of legal experience in the government and commercial services sector. In his role as general counsel, his duties include general corporate legal affairs, transactional agreements, employment law, litigation, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance and reporting.
Prior to joining Serco, Daniel served as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at SI International.
Daniel previously served as in-house counsel for The University of Memphis. In this capacity, he focused on transactional and intellectual property matters, with particular focus on legal matters related to sponsored research, licensing and technology transfer. Daniel is admitted to practice law under the corporate counsel designation in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is admitted to practice law in the State of Tennessee. He is also a member of the Association for Corporate Counsel since 2002.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business, with majors in finance and management, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University and a law degree from Memphis State University.
