The 12th Annual Heart Ball Meets and Surpasses Financial Goal
Saturday, February 27th marked the 12th Annual Heart Ball. The event met and surpassed its $2 million goal, raising $2,025,000 million. The Heart Ball was held at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner and featured spectacular live and silent auctions, live music, inspiration stories of survival and a five-star seated dinner. Heart disease is the number one killer in the nation, and this event brought together 600 people to support the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association has already reached its goal of reducing death from stroke and heart disease by 25% and events like the DC Heart Ball continue to move towards funding groundbreaking research.
We had the opportunity to speak with Nancy Brown, the CEO of the American Heart Association, who came in from Dallas, Texas. We also sat down with David Bender, and his family, who donated $1,000,000 to this year’s Heart Ball, as well as chaired the evening. Cheryl Campbell, Vice President of CGI, was the Corporate Chair of the 2010 Heart Ball and shared with us something new for this year’s ball. Check out the video to find out.
