Barry Ptashkin is leader for transportation for HP’s Global Government Industry. He is responsible for the marketing, sales and execution of consulting, integration and outsourcing services to the transport sector.
Ptashkin has more than 30 years of experience in business development, materials management and labor relations, project management, IT, strategic planning, business transformation, change management, merger integration, operations and profit improvement, marketing, organization and staffing, problem-solving facilitation, and maintenance.
Ptashkin previously worked for the Chicago and North Western Railway, where he was responsible for industrial engineering, conducting first-party labor negotiations and directing terminal operations involving coordinating all freight movement, maintenance and support functions.
Ptashkin is a certified management consultant and a senior member of the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign and master’s degree in business administration from Loyola University of Chicago.
