Xe Services, formally known as Blackwater, is looking for a buyer, according to recent news reports. The organization, which operated in Iraq and has contracts in Afghanistan, also has extensive training facilities in North Carolina as well as an expanding presence in Asian markets and manufacturing.
“Xe’s new management team has made significant changes and improvements to the company over the last 15 months, which have enabled the company to better serve the U.S. government and other customers, and will deliver additional value to a purchaser,” according to a statement released by the company.
In March, Xe sold its aviation business for $200 million to AAR. However, there is speculation that company such as Cerberus, a private equity firm, may be willing to buy Xe.
Earlier this year, Cerberus purchased DynCorp for around $1 billion. Another potential buyer of Xe is the Carlyle Group, which already owns several defense-related companies.
