Ray Whitehead is Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning for General Dynamics. In this position, he is responsible for the management of marketing support systems, business development operations, industry relations and alliances, strategic planning and business growth.
Before joining General Dynamics, Whitehead was Vice President of Business Development and Communications for General Dynamics Network Systems when it merged with Anteon International in June 2006, to form General Dynamics Information Technology.
Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Army. During his service, he was an armor officer and led armor units based in Germany, South Korea and the continental United States. He was the editor-in-chief of Soldiers Magazine and also served as an Army spokesperson at the Pentagon, where he provided communications support and media relations for operations.
Whitehead earned his B.A. degree in history from The University of Tennessee and a M.A. degree in business from Webster University.
