Barbie Bigelow is chief information officer for TASC, Inc. As such, she is responsible for the leading the company’s information strategy including collaboration, enterprise systems, technology and security. She oversees the IT direction, market discriminators and operations including creating TASC’s infrastructure, business systems and collaboration suite.
Prior to joining TASC, she was the electronic systems CIO at Lockheed Martin where she led several systems modernization and consolidation initiatives. Most recently, she led the program management, governance and compliance transformation for the Enterprise Business Services organization.
Earlier in her career, Bigelow was director of business initiatives and program manager for Undersea Lifetime Support and Performance-based Logistics. Prior, she was program manager for the Health and Human Services Line of Business and manager for Advanced Technology Business Development. She has completed special assignments in strategic planning, emerging market analysis and program management curriculum/certification development.
Bigelow started her career in IT as a statistical researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
Before this, she was a programmer/researcher for IBM and worked on early parsing and mark-up languages that are the foundation of HTML
Bigelow earned her master’s degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee. She is recognized as a certified program management professional and a member of the CIO Executive Council.
