Jim Traficant serves as vice president and senior executive account manager of the healthcare solutions, government communications systems division for Harris Corporation. As such, he is responsible for leading the marketing and business development activities of the government business and reports to the group president.
Traficant joined Harris in 2001 as vice president of programs and business development for Harris IT services, and division vice president of business development for the company’s government communications systems division.
Prior to joining Harris, Traficant was executive vice president of Exigent International, Inc/Software Technology, Inc. before its acquisition by Harris. In this position, he oversaw business development and engineering services, as well as leading business development initiatives for Exigent’s government businesses. Traficant was with Exigent for 17 years and held various leadership positions, including managing STI’s commercial space and IT business as well as Exigent’s government services division.
He also served on the company’s board of directors for seven years.
Traficant currently is a member of both the Health Information and Management Systems Society and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. He is a director for the United Network for Organ Sharing.
Traficant earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Geneva College and his master’s degree in business administration from The George Washington University.
