The data centers part of the National Computer Center collect and process large amounts of environmental data. SAIC will be charged with improving efficiencies with servers, storage, operations, facilities and disaster-recovery services.
“SAIC has a long history of support to the EPA and understands the important role information technology infrastructure plays in support of the agency’s mission to protect human health and safeguard the environment,” he said. “We look forward to providing environmentally friendly, cost efficient and agile data center services to EPA’s programs.”
The project has a one-year base period with five one-year options and will be performed in Washington, D.C., and Research Triangle Park, N.C., along with other EPA data center locations.
