In keeping with the federal governments pledge to support veteran and small businesses, Harris Corporation announced this week it will partner with 7 Delta, Inc. to provide mentorship to the veteran-owned company.
Sponsored by the Department of Veteran Affairs, the Mentor-Protege program offers veteran-owned businesses an opportunity to partner with more established federal contracting firms. The program is designed to increase the number of veteran-owned firms supplying contracting work for the federal government.
VA hopes corporate mentorships will better prepare veteran-owned companies for entry into the government-contracting field. Harris’s mentorship will provide 7 Delta with the tools and know-how to better service its federal contracts.
“We are extremely honored that the VA selected Harris to serve as a mentor to 7 Delta,” said Jim Traficant, vice president and general manager for Harris Healthcare Solutions. “The VA’s Mentor-Protege Program allows us to continue to demonstrate our strong commitment to veterans and help foster the growth of veteran-owned small businesses.”
