Judy Marks will step into her new position today as lead of Siemens freshly launched federal business unit.
In its bid to increase its federal presence, Siemens chose the 27-year veteran of Lockheed Martin to help the company double its federal sales.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Eric Spiegel, president and CEO of Siemens, said the company needed an experienced and knowledgeable person in the federal marketplace.
Siemens found what it was looking for in Marks. As vice president of strategy and business development for Lockheed Martin, Spiegel thinks Marks has the experience and business savvy to help build Siemens’ federal business.
Marks began her career at IBM’s Federal Systems. Through a series of corporate sales, her division eventually became part of Lockheed. Marks served Lockheed as president of distribution technologies, and headed up Lockheed’s Transportation and Security Solutions unit.
