Epicure Digital, a producer of digital menu boards, will present its Epicure Digital Menu System emphasizing nutritional menu labeling at the Association for Healthcare Foodservice Annual Conference, Arizona Biltmore, Phoenix, Ariz., 5-9 June, 2011.
The popularity of digital menu boards with nutritional menu labeling in hospital cafeterias has increased strongly in recent years, with hospitals including University of California, San Francisco Medical Center and Phoenix Children Hospital using the boards to provide specific nutrition information for patients and visitors alike.
“The Epicure Digital Menu System allows us to cycle parts of the menu as needed,” explained Dan Hendroid, director of nutrition and food services at UCSF Medical Center. “[S]ome parts of our menu cycle every 28 days, and others 14 or seven days. The technology lets us handle all the cycles on the same menu board at the same time. The system is a time-saver, and flexible in that it lets us change menus or prices as needed.”
Epicure Digital said the combination of nutrition information and labeling with motion graphics and food photography allows customers to receive accurate information regarding their meals in a sophisticated manner. The company creates customized nutritional boards that best suit each client’s needs, and will be located at Booth #316 when it presents its product at the AHF Annual Conference next week.
