Google saw an 8.4 percent increase in site visitors compared to May 2010. ComScore offers estimates based on a panel of 2 million Internet users and started tracking such traffic in 2006, a time when Google had approximately 496 million unique visitors per month.
Google wasn’t the only site to see a rise in traffic. Mashable says Microsoft‘s sites saw a 15 percent increase, coming in at No. 2 with 905 million uniques. Facebook‘s numbers were up 30 percent, to 714 million. And Yahoo had 689 million.
Despite Google’s achievement, Yahoo still retains more monthly visitors. Approximately 188.8 million people visited Yahoo’s sites in May, compared to 180 million visitors to Google’s.
