AMERICAN SYSTEMS has appointed employees Dave Hunt and Bob Irelan to two vice president positions within the government services company.
Hunt will serve as vice president and director of the NCI Directorate, part of the Joint and International Concepts Division. He joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 2008 after a 27-year stint as a Naval aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps. At AMERICAN SYSTEMS, he has previously served as deputy program manager for the $42M Omnibus Department of Defense Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program contract and as the lead for Full Spectrum Effects business development.
Irelan will serve as vice president and director of Navy Expeditionary Warfare, part of the Professional Services Market Sector. Irelan joined AMERICAN SYSTEMS in 2010 as the program manager for the Navy Training Systems Planning initiative supporting Naval Sea Systems Command, PMS 470 and Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division.
Prior to joining AMERICAN SYSTEMS, Irelan served as a Commander LHD/LHA/LPD CLASSRON. He brings over 27 years of experience working on maintenance, operations to training and management of U.S. Navy ships to his new position assisting his U.S. Navy customers in the successful implementation of the upcoming mid-life modernization for the Navy’s big deck landing helicopter decks.
Hunt is based out of AMERICAN SYSTEMS’ Dumfries, Va. office, while Irelan will work from the company’s Chesapeake, Va. office.
