Smith joins Symantec.cloud from CA Technologies where he acted as managing director of Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, he has worked in a number of managment and sales roles at companies such as Siebel Systems, Brightstar Information Technology Group, BusinessObjects and SAP.

“I’m pleased to be joining Symantec at a time when cloud is such a fast-growing part of the Symantec portfolio and is projected to contribute 15 percent of Symantec’s annual revenue within the next five years,” says Smith. “One of the most appealing aspects of Symantec is the depth and breadth of its solution portfolio and its ability to offer customers choice for cloud, on-premise or appliance solutions. The key advantages of our cloud solutions are that they offer a scalable, easy to manage and predictable cost structure to both enterprise and SMB organisations alike.”

According to Richard Collins, vice president, global sales, Symantec.cloud, Smith’s experience across the region make him a good fit for the role.

“With more than 20 years’ experience spanning Asia Pacific across a number of multinational IT application and software vendors, Brenton has the knowledge and expertise to lead the continued growth of Symantec’s cloud business in the Asia Pacific and Japan region.”

“Cloud is rapidly transforming how customers choose to address their security, IT and information management challenges.
