GovConExec Magazine’s Fall Issue Examines Peak Markets in Government Contracting

Executive Mosaic, publisher of GovCon Executive and other web properties related to government contracting, has announced the launch of the latest issue of GovConExec magazine, which highlights the growth opportunities for government contractors.

The latest issue comes at a time where the nation is taking steps to get its fiscal house in order, requiring contractors to deliver cost saving solutions for the government.

The GovConExec staff hones in on five key markets representing growth prospects for federal contractors including cybersecurity, healthcare IT, cloud computing, mobility and rule of law.

With an unprecedented number of cyberattacks in the first half of 2011, this issue examines contractors who provided solutions to defend big business’ infrastructures and the evolutions taking place within the market.

Healthcare IT is showing promise, with electronic health records as the centerpiece of this growing market. The market has learned from the cybersecurity market and the issue examines the next frontier for healthcare IT.

The flood of smartphones and tablets demonstrates mobility is on the rise and changing the way people work opening the door to new innovations, technologies and tech trends.

Private clouds, hybrid clouds, and community clouds galore. Cloud computing has become a government staple as shown with the General Services Administration recently announcing it has moved to a cloud-based system and other agencies soon to follow.

Rule of law allows contractors to extend their expertise on how to rebuild institutions and help countries affected by war and turmoil. Contractors focus on three key areas: defense, diplomacy and development.

In the “INSIGHT” section, Jacques Gansler examines how the “soft power” of the State Department acts in tandem with the Pentagon’s “hard power.”

Vangent CEO Mac Curtis is spotlighted in “CEO Profile.” Vangent recently made the news with General Dynamics announcing it will buy Vangent in a $960 million deal.

FedTech Soundoff features the experts’ views on health IT, cloud back-up plans and mobile security. GovConExec also compiled its annual “Go-to List” of the top advisers in the government contracting industry.
