Harris Corp. employees recently demonstrated princples of satellite orbits and altitude control for eight-grade students at Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy in participation of National Aerospace Week. Harris employees and orbital analysts Bob Gess and Heather Michaelson conducted the demonstrations.
“As a company with more than 50 years of experience in the aerospace industry, we hope these demonstrations by local Harris employees during National Aerospace Week spark students’ curiosity and quest for knowledge, and set the trajectory for future aerospace careers,” said John Heller, president of Harris’ IT services.
Harris’ Colorado Springs location supports $410 million U.S. Air Force Network and Space Operations and Maintenance program. National Aerospace Week recognizes the aerospace industry’s contributions to U.S. history, economy, security and workforce.
