OpenCloud has named Geoff Unwin the new chairman of the board, an appointment that comes as the company continues to experience rapid growth.
Unwin began his career in the late 1960s when he joined Hoskyns Group PLC, becoming managing director in 1984. Unwin oversaw the group’s flotation in 1986 and acquisition by Cap Gemini in 1988, by then holding the position of executive chairman. Following the acquisition, he became CEO at Cap Gemini E&Y, a position he held until 2002. During his tenure, he led the successful acquisition of Ernst & Young’s consulting activities, and he is currently a non-voting member of the Board.
“Geoff has had a long and distinguished career as a leading executive for blue-chip technology companies,” said Jeff Gordon, CEO of OpenCloud. “He has also held the position of chairman on the boards of a variety of different technology and media organisations. His experience of guiding companies through growth, and consolidation, will steer the company in the right direction during an exciting period in our development.”
