Harris Corp. has today been named one of the world’s most innovative companies by Thomson Reuters under the firm’s new 2011 Top 100 Global Innovator program. The firm was one of 40 U.S. based companies and one of seven communications companies selected as a top global innovator.
The program is based on four criteria which include patent approval success rate, global reach of patent portfolio, patent influence in literature citations and overall patent volume. The program analyzes patent data and related metrics in a proprietary methodology to identify the organizations that lead the world in innovation activity.
“Harris strives to provide the most innovative, reliable and secure communications solutions possible for customers in more than 150 countries around the globe. Our customers’ operations and sometimes lives depend on it,” said Kent Buchanan, vice president of engineering and chief technology officer at Harris Corporation. “This recognition is a testament to the more than 7,000 Harris engineers worldwide who create and deliver these innovative solutions every day.”
