Ken Silva has been named senior vice president for cyber strategy of ManTech International Corporation’s Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions group. He will be responsible for developing and implementing ManTech’s cyber strategy across markets and technologies.
“I am excited to be part of a team that is leading the cyber fight with technology and thought leadership. Cyber security is one of the biggest challenges facing our country today, and ManTech is a recognized leader in cyber security, with world-class capabilities,” said Silva.
Silva will report to L. William Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech’s MCTS group, who described Silva as, “a leader in the cyber community who brings a distinguished background in technological security and cyber technology to ManTech.”
Prior to joining ManTech, Silva was senior executive adviser for cyber technologies at Booz Allen Hamilton. He also spent 10 years with VeriSign as senior vice president and chief technology officer. He was named one of InfoWorld’s Top 25 CTO’s for 2009.
In addition, Silva has served on the board of directors of the Information Technology Information Sharing and Analysis Center and was the chairman of the Internet Security Alliance from 2002 to 2008. He’s been a member of several committees, including the National Reliability and Interoperability Commission, the National Stability Telecommunications Advisory Committee, and the Enduring Security Framework Operations Committee.
Silva has testified to Congress numerous times on cybersecurity. He received his advanced technological studies at George Washington University, the University of Maryland University College, and the National Cryptologic School and completed earlier studies at the Community College of the Air Force.
