On Nov. 1, Software AG South Africa named Ike Kunene executive director of corporate affairs and government relations, making him a member of the local board of directors as well.
Emma Murray, vice president of sales for the South African subsidiary, described Kunene’s duties to comprise government relations, management and leadership of transformation policies and the company’s corporate social investment program.
“With an excellent track record in his role as Director Sales; Public Sector, Ike is well positioned to take us forward with our stated policies and programmes in these strategic and important areas. He has shown himself to be a true leader with great potential. I am confident he is the right man for the job and wish him every success in his new role,” said Murray.
Kunene has 13 years of experience in developing and executing new business development and sales strategies. He also has experience in telecommunications, public sector and information technology. He has Business Studies degree from the Bulawayo Polytechnic College, University of Cambridge A levels, Advanced Level, and is currently preparing his final thesis to complete his two-year MBA course at the University of Hull in the U.K.
