In his position, Kolton both plans and implements corporate growth strategies. He provides support to managers of the company’s business units, assisting in expanding business services and identifying new growth markets.
Prior to joining L-3’s management team, Kolton charged business development for L-3 Communications‘ service group as senior vice president. He was tasked with coordinating and planning business development and operations worldwide for five LSG divisions and subsidiaries.
Kolton provided strategic development, proposal development, capture planning, mergers and acquisitions, new product development, marketing, operating procedures and business and professional development, among other tasks.
Kolton held this position with L3 since 2005, but also also simultaneously served as senior vice president of business development for MPRI, an L3 subsidiary as of 2000, from 1989 to 2009.
In addition to his private sector career, Kolton also served for over 22 years as a military strategist and infantryman. He is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and served in staff positions in the U.S. Central Command, Department of the Army, the White House and the 82nd Airborne and 3rd Infantry Divisions.
Kolton earned his bachelor’s from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He holds a master’s in history from the Univesity of Texas at Austin and his master’s of military arts and sciences in strategy from the School of Advanced Military Studies.
