The JPL award was presented at NASA’s Small Business Symposium and Awards Ceremony on Nov. 3 as part of NASA’s Small Business Symposium.
“Our small business partners play an important role in our success,” said Ron Stefano, vice president of mission operations solutions for Raytheon’s intelligence and information systems business. “This award recognizes Raytheon as an incubator of small businesses, offering maximum opportunities for small and disadvantaged companies to contribute and succeed within our program, JPL and NASA.”
The large business contractor recognition was given as a result of the company’s contributions to NASA’s overall small business program, according to a company release.
Individual NASA centers nominate contractors for the large business award based on NASA contract performance, overall small business programs, meeting small business requirements and using small business contractors to perform technical tasks.
