The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded TASC Inc. a three-year, $2.9 million agreement to mentor Government Contract Solutions Inc. under the Defense Department‘s Mentor-Protege Program.
TASC said in a release it will mentor GCS, a TASC subcontractor and woman-owned small business, in areas such as information assurance and security, information technology transfer and business infrastructure and development.
“At TASC, we understand the important role that small businesses play in our economy and have long valued our partnerships with small businesses,” said Craig Ridley, small business liaison officer at TASC. “And we know from our existing work with GCS the valuable expertise they bring to the customer and to the market.
“We see this award as the next step in a progressive, winning relationship for all involved — TASC, GCS and, most importantly, NGA.”
The Mentor-Protege program was created in the early 1990s to help small businesses compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering with larger companies under individual, project-based agreements.
