DRS Defense Solutions will produce equipment for a Navy data network under a $2.9 million contract, DRS announced Monday.

DRS said the award will complement its work on a previously awarded $19.1 million contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center to produce Gigabit Ethernet Multiplex System sets.

“This follow-on award is another indication of the long-standing, positive relationship between the U.S. Navy and DRS ICAS,” said Hans DeViso, vice president of communications for DRS’ intelligence, communications and avionics business unit. “We are committed to providing high-quality products and services to the Navy.”

Work contract will be performed at a DRS facility in Buffalo, N.Y.
