Harris to Design Alabama Public Safety Digital Radio System

Harris Corp. will design and implement a digital radio system in the city of Montgomery, Ala. and Montgomery County, Ala., Harris announced Wednesday.

Harris said the system will provide interoperable communications to 2,400 users, including 1,500 first responders. Harris said the system can expand into neighboring counties in the future.

“This solution allows the city and county of Montgomery to undergo a seamless migration from the existing EDACS system to their communications platform for the future, said Steve Marschilok, president of Harris’ public safety and professional communications.
