The city of Long Beach, Ca. has selected Oracle to implement a new utility billing system and support customer service, Oracle announced Wednesday.

According to Oracle, the city is looking to replace its 32-year old information system with Oracle’s integrated utility platform. Oracle said the upgrades will give the city a complete view of customer data, streamline the city’s billing processes and allow more responsive customer service.

The city expects the upgrades to also provide e-billing and online self-service features.

Oracle will also implement mobile workforce management, which the company says will improve communication between customer service representatives, dispatchers and technicians.
