Steckel implements long-term strategic plans and creates, identifies and develops new business opportunities. He is also responsible for the company’s strategic partnerships.
Before joining Raytheon, Steckel was a longtime employee of BAE Systems. His most recent position at BAE was vice president of business development for BAE’s electronic solutions sector in Nashua, N.H. In this position, he provided marketing analysis to many of BAE’s business areas.
Prior to that, he was vice president of business development for BAE’s armament systems line of business. Steckel also held positions in BAE’s electronic warfare business area.
Steckel spent 21 years in the U.S. Navy and reserves as a P-3C Orion Naval Flight Officer. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and his M.B.A. from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
