Dell, Siemens Team to Provide Clinicians Cloud-Based, Archiving Solutions

Dell and Siemens formed an alliance to deliver cloud-based vendor-neutral image archiving and sharing solutions for healthcare clinicians.

Dell said Siemens will incorporate Dell’s clinical data management software into its healthcare solution for image sharing and archiving.

Dell said its cloud clinical archive solution will support Siemens’ healthcare cloud computing center.

James Coffin, Dell’s vice president and general manager for healthcare and life sciences, said the company it intends to create new channels for archiving through Dell’s alliance with Siemens.

Dell will launch its cloud-based medical archive platform in the U.K. toward the end of the first quarter of 2012.

Dell has received the ISO-13485 certification for its cloud-based image archive operations.

Dell is presenting its healthcare solutions at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society conference in Las Vegas this week.

Dell’s presentation also includes solutions based on the Dell-Siemens alliance.
