Autonomic, Red Hat Expand Cloud Govt. Partnership; Paul Smith Comments

Paul Smith, Red Hat

Autonomic Resources is now a certified Red Hat partner and cloud solutions provider to the federal market, Autonomic announced Tuesday.

Paul Smith, Red Hat’s public sector business vice president and general manager, said the companies have previously partnered to produce solutions such as Enterprise Linux, Enterprise Virtualization and JBoss Enterprise Middleware.

Smith said the addition to his company’s partner ecosystem provides the companies an opportunity to expand their cloud offerings to federal customers.

As a certified provider, Autonomic will offer Red Hat’s technologies to the public sector.

The company, which offers its own government-only cloud, also announced that it submitted its cloud solution to be included in the first round of FedRAMP certifications.

The first round of tests will be for vendors providing infrastructure-as-a-service and will begin in June

Verizon Federal and General Dynamics‘ information technology business unit are among the companies who will have their cloud services reviewed under the new program as well.

Autonomic also has federal cloud computing connections with one of Microsoft’s lead channel partners, Capax Global Services, Talkin’ Cloud reports.
