SAIC Inc. is opening a cybersecurity research and development center Melbourne, Australia as part of the company’s plans to expand its operations in that country.
The McLean, Va.-based science and engineering firm said in a release it plans to focus on developing new technologies, data mining and analysis to help protect commercial and public networks.
Steve Rizzi, a vice president and regional manager, said the company will use the new facility to facilitate global requests for its customers.
SAIC reported its intelligence and cybersecurity solutions revenue grew more than 5.4 percent to $936 million in the third quarter of its 2012 fiscal year.
