BAE Systems is partnering with a Slovakia-based company to offer remote turrets to the South African military, the company announced Tuesday.

Sitno’s PPS Vehicles subsidiary and BAE will provide Tactical Remote Turrets, designed to provide ground fire support for light armored, mine-protected and infantry combat vehicles.

The companies said the TRT armament suite has rapid fire cannon, co-axial machine gun and anti-tank guided missiles.

Armed forces can integrate the turrets into existing vehicles, the companies said.

In a similar move, General Dynamics is teaming with a German firm to offer tank ammunition in the U.S. and international markets.

Rheinmetall Defence and General Dynamics have worked together for 10 years on other projects.
