DynCorp International will receive an award for exceeding the three percent goal of providing contracting opportunities to veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
The Falls Church, Va.-based security contractor said Thursday it will accept the National Veteran Small Business Coalition’s Champion of Veteran Enterprise award for 2012 June 22 in Reno, Nevada.
President and CEO Steve Gaffney said much of the company’s business involves supporting those who serve in the military.
DynCorp awarded 12.8 percent of opportunities to veteran-owned small businesses and 3.3 percent to service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
The NVSBC also recognizes companies who make their acquisition process friendly to veterans, the company said..
Earlier this month, the company also received the Federal Aviation Administration’s highest corporate-level award for supporting two Air Force programs.
