GeoEye Eyeing Europe Expansion Through Amsterdam Office; Andy Hanna Comments

GeoEye Inc. has expanded the company’s Amsterdam office with the goal of meeting demand for commercial satellite imagery in Eastern and Western Europe, the company announced Friday.

This announcement comes five months after the company established its European customer service and sales operations.

European, Russian and Turkish customers use geospatial imagery for energy and fleet resource monitoring, critical infrastructure protection and land use and planning, said Andy Hanna, senior director of sales in those regions.

According to the company, its partner network now has sales resources on the ground in more than 12 European Union countries, covering more than 89 percent of European markets by gross domestic product.
