DRS Technologies holds a potential $269 million contract to help the Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command Atlantic run the military’s Internet cafe program.
The company said its systems engineering, analysis and maintenance work will occur in Afghanistan, Iraq and Stuttgart, Germany.
“The Internet cafe program is extremely important to our military members serving in remote and harsh environments,” Technical Services President Mitchell Rambler said in a release. “They can keep in touch with loved ones and services back home in ways that are not possible without this technology.”
Work for the program will also include acquisition, integration, installation, testing, maintenance and integrated logistics support for satellite and communication systems.
