Exelis Prime On Proposed $200M Radar Landing Sale

ITT Exelis is a prime contractor on a proposed $200 million foreign military sale of radar landing systems, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency has told Congress.

In a July 12 announcement, DSCA reported the government of Poland wants to buy nine ICAO Category II ground-controlled approach radar systems.

If the sale goes through, the country will receive radio equipment, systems installation and testing services, spares, tools and test equipment.

The sale also covers personnel training and training equipment, technical data, warranties, U.S. government and contractor engineering, technical and logistics support.

Poland plans to use the radar systems for its F-16 and C-130 programs, as well as its air navigation and approach missions to address aviation safety throughout the country.

Exelis recently attended Eurosatory, a Paris-based defense and technology conference, for the first time since its spinoff from ITT Corp.
