A Harris Corp. joint venture will provide a Middle East government agency a geospatial intelligence sharing system, the company announced Monday.
Harris Atlas Systems, a joint venture between Harris and United Arab Emirates-based Atlas Telecom, will provide the agency enterprise and mobile versions of Harris’ Active Catalog system.
The system is designed for users to share information identifying the geographic location and characteristics of natural or constructed objects, gain access to live data feeds and generate and share documents.
Active Catalog has 130 patents and geospatial customers have used it for more than 30 years, said Leon Shivamber, managing director for the joint venture.
He added in a release the system is also designed to work during disasters and other emergencies.
Remote users will access enterprise-based geospatial intelligence data and send field-collected information back to the enterprise.
Harris holds two orders from Iraq and an unnamed Middle Eastern country to provide the countries Falcon III tactical radios, networking components, accessories and spares.
