ARINC is the recipient of an industrial achievement award from the Defense Department, having been selected from a pool of 13,000 defense contractors.
The company said the Pentagon awarded the James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award to 26 contractors total.
“It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment put forth by the ARINC team who make it their daily mission to exceed standard security requirements and ensure that the classified information critical for our nation’s safety is protected from those who would seek to do us harm,” Chairman and CEO John Belcher said in a release.
The company said the Cogswell Award, established in 1966, recognizes companies who provide industrial security and achieve excellence in matters related only to a facility’s security program.
Candidates must be nominated by a Defense Security Service industrial security representative, a national review team consolidates and ranks the nominees and the DSS makes the final award selections.
Facilities that have at least two consecutive superior industrial security review ratings and which show progress and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation and oversight are eligible for nomination, ARINC said.
