Avaya has appointed Dave Vellequette senior vice president and chief financial officer, where he will succeed the departing Anthony Massetti.
The company said Vellequette will report to CEO Kevin Kennedy and join the executive council.
Vellequette brings experience from diversified technology firms as the company focuses on its business collaboration and communications offerings, Kennedy said in a release.
Vellequette most recently served as CFO at JDS Uniphase Corp. since 2005 and prior to that as VP for worldwide sales and service operations at Openwave Systems.
He joined Cisco Systems in 1996 upon that company’s acquisition of StrataCom Corp., which he joined in 1992 and served as corporate controller at the time of the acquisition.
At Cisco, he served as VP of finance, supporting the company’s service provider line of business.
In May, the company brought aboard another Cisco veteran in Pierre-Paul Allard to serve as SVP of corporate strategy and development, charging him with using strategic alliances to move global initiatives forward.
