Greg Long: RFP Planned for Fed Retirement Plan Data Centers

Greg Long

The agency responsible for a federal employee retirement plan wants a contractor to provide data center services for a defined contribution plan, Federal News Radio reports.

According to Ruben Gomez‘s report, the Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board‘s executive director told a Senate subcommittee last Tuesday the agency wants to issue a request for proposals by Dec. 31.

Greg Long testified during the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs subcommittee on oversight of government management, the federal workforce and the District of Columbia.

Long told the panel the board is still formulating the procurement notice and will hold a full and open competition for the data center contract, Gomez reports.

An award to help run the Thrift Savings Plan should come down during the next fiscal year, Long said.
