Harris, Microsoft, SRA Team for NORAD IT Support; Ted Hengst Comments

A Harris Corp.-led team of contractors will provide enterprise information technology support services to the North American Air Defense
Command and U.S. Northern Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

The company said Microsoft and SRA International will serve as subcontractors during the potential four-year, $46 million contract, won through the General Services Administration’s Schedule 70 vehicle.

NORAD and NORTHCOM will receive IT systems and network integration support, said Ted Hengst, president of IT services at Harris.

The team will help with enterprise modeling and simulation, computer network defense, user training and support for national special security events.

Contract work will also cover:

  • planning and design
  • testing and validation
  • component installation and repair
  • enterprise network management
  • network and storage administration
  • telecommunications
