ICF to Help EPA Develop Greenhouse Gas Policy; Don Robinson Comments

ICF International will work with the Environmental Protection Agency to develop policies and strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas, the company announced Thursday.

Under the five-year multiple-award contract, the company will provide technical and outreach support for the agency’s Gas STAR, Global Methane Initiative and Natural Gas STAR International programs.

“ICF has supported the EPA and the Gas STAR program area for nearly 20 years,” said Don Robinson, a vice president.

The company wants to help the agency reduce methane greenhouse gas emissions from both domestic and international oil and gas sectors, he added in a release.

Work will include domestic and policy support, strategy support for country and regional action plans, planning and executing technology transfer workshops and project identification and feasibility assessments.

ICF is also helping the EPA conduct program initiatives under the Clean Air Act, including risk assessments for pollutants and reports to Congress on those risks.
