In-Q-Tel to Invest in Imaging Sensor Integrator; Stephen Saylor Comments

In-Q-Tel has signed a strategic investment and technology development agreement with a Massachusetts-based maker of imaging sensors, IQT announced Wednesday.

SiOnyx Inc., based in Beverly, will work on integrating Black Silicon image sensors into imaging systems.

SiOnyx CEO Stephen Saylor said his company wants to address needs of government customers and expand its reach into the next generation, consumer and commercial markets.

IQT says SiOnyx is commercializing a patented semiconductor process, focused on sensitivity of silicon-based photonics for light detectionl digital imaging photovoltaics and other applications.

Lime Microsystems, a U.K.-based radio frequency technology firm, is teaming with the U.S. intelligence community’s investment arm to provide government and commercial customers transceiver chips.
