Parsons will help the Federal Aviation Administration manage aviation safety and air traffic for the National Airspace System, the company announced Monday.
The company said it won a technical support services contract, its second consecutive contract award and the FAA’s fourth for technical support.
Work under the cost-plus-award-fee contract includes professional engineering, technical and construction services for modernization projects in U.S. states, territories and possessions.
Parsons will carry out modernization projects for the NAS and support transition into the agency’s Next Generation Air Transportation System, or NextGen.
The company’s scope of work includes site surveys and selection; engineering; environmental; fire/life safety; equipment installation, removal, and testing; drafting; staging, warehousing, and distribution; and contract surveillance and oversight.
Parsons has worked with the FAA for 11 years through more than 3,000 implemented work releases and projects at more than 4,000 FAA facilities.
The agency recently selected ITT Exelis to develop approach procedures at five airports for the NextGen initiative.
