Serco Wins $43M Contract In Support of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency; Gene Costa Comments

Serco Inc. has won a $43 million contract to provide parking meter operation support services for the meter management systems and infrastructure of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, the company announced today.

The Parking Meter Coin Collection, Counting and Support Services contract calls for Serco to provide daily collection services and reconciliation of the city’s parking meters. The company is expected to improve safety and security using GPS vehicle tracking and vehicle security cameras.

The contractor will also work to establish an online dashboard for better financial reporting to the SFMTA.

Serco vice president of Transportation and Infrastructure Gene Costa said the company looks forward to providing new and improved solutions to the SFMTA, as it has done for ten years.

The re-compete contract includes a five-year base period.
