Accenture has completed its acquisition of Octagon Research Solutions Inc. a Pennsylvania-based clinical and regulatory information management solutions provider, Accenture announced Thursday.
Accenture said it intends the acquisition, announced in August with terms undisclosed, to complement its existing clinical services portfolio and provide its pharmaceutical industry customers clinical and regulatory services.
“Our pharmaceutical clients around the world are looking for proven clinical and regulatory services that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their drug development business,” said David Boath, North American managing director for Accenture’s life sciences industry group.
Boath added Octagon will provide proprietary software to complement Accenture’s global delivery network and research and development experience to provide clients software-enabled clinical and regulatory services.
Octagon also adds to Accenture regulatory submission services, going along with Accenture’s business process outsourcing portfolio targeted to the pharmaceutical industry, according to Accenture.
