Lockheed Martin has received an award from the Federal Aviation Administration for the company’s work with small businesses during 2011, the company announced Monday.
According to the company, the FAA’s Best of the Best Award goes to firms supporting the agency’s goals for awarding contracts and subcontracts to small businesses.
For its part, Lockheed received the award for working with small businesses on the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract III program, supporting FAA national airspace system modernization and support programs.
The FAA also recognized the company in the large business category for performance and contributions to the FAA’s Small Business Development Program including its Mentor Protege Program, Subcontractor Symposium and onsite training and mentoring.
In October, the company will receive an award from the Air Traffic Control Association for work on the FAA’s modernization program.
